Baby Alizeh’s role in the Environment !!

Baby Alizeh was born on June 29th and that may be the reason she is contributing more towards the Mother Nature, we can say! Basically Iam a person who is obedient to teachers so when I was a kid few stuffs were deep in my mind and I followed those stuffs till I can and those stuffs have transformed in my bub I can say.
Reduction of Disposable Garbage:
As soon as she was born she was in cloth nappies which are homemade. So her first contribution as soon as she entered the world is like she didn’t use disposable and made a huge contribution to the society by not dumping the huge disposable garbage. Because of her I too have started using menstrual cup. Baby Alizeh became a social citizen who teaches her mom to give back fresh air to the society. It was really hard in the beginning to use only cloth and then later when she was 2 months old I started using one size MODERN CLOTH DIAPERS which are reusable and washable which is a great thing to use. Its really cool to see beautiful designs on the bum. With a minimum stash of 22 we reuse them and enjoy wearing them. Baby A also loves her diapers. She doesn’t like the disposables and to be frank we don’t know how to select a disposable diaper for her in this country  :p I can hear you people regarding the night time diapering. As a mommy I too worry about my darling’s sleep. Yes, she sleeps peacefully in her nighttime diapers which comes for more than 12 plus hours but I do change when we hit 9 hours as I don’t want to take a chance on my baby’s bum. But there are parents who use for 13 hours with our trusted Superbottoms Plus. In a day we use approximately 4 to 5 diapers so you can technically understand that BabyA has successfully prevented 1650 disposable diapers in these 11 months from going into landfills for 500 years. Isn’t it that cool?

Spreading the Love for cloth diapers
Baby A has did her major part so can we be happy by sitting quite?? Haven’t our elders taught us Good things should be shared?? So what We (BabyA & mommy club) did was spreaded the love of Cloth diapers to others by claiming the positives and negatives of using cloth diapers and we can proudly say nearly 10 mommies have started using cloth diapers looking at the joy this mommy club has attained in using the cloth diapers. We didn’t stop with that alone, baby Alizeh gifted newborn cloth diapers to her newborn nephew to spread the love she has in cloth diapers.

Reducing the usage of Plastics
We can say we are eco-friendly only when we complete this part and it’s a difficult task. But we tried our best and trying our best to complete this process hope we will succeed in this task soon. Slowly we are trying to use Tote bags. Whenever I use plastics Baby Alizeh shows me her bums which makes me realise I should use a tote bag instead of a plastic bag. To store the soiled diapers I do have wetbags but those wetbags are so beautiful where it ended up in carrying our clothes, stuffs when we move out which takes a role of plastic bag. Win win situation for us!
Usage of Teethers:
One of the toughest phase in parenting I can say is teething phase. I was so specific in not getting plastic stuffs for her either for her toys or any other stuff it matters. So we avoided getting toys for her till she reached the teething phase. Selecting the teethers were the toughest task but we got her Food grade Silicone where we did our bit in this too in becoming a Green Family who is doing their small bit to safeguard the nature.

LIVING WITH THE NATURE:
We read somewhere where a best contribution to the Global warming is to open the windows and doors as soon as one wakes up from his/her bed and that part we do daily as Alizeh loves nature and she needs fresh air to breathe in!!
When we go for the walks we speak to the plants/Trees, Leaves. She touches them, feels them. I could sense a joy , can see a spark in her eyes when she does that. Earlier I thought she is doing it as a play and later I could relate how kids become teachers and teach us , remind us about the stuffs which are rusted?

Relating to the Theme
“Connect with Nature” is the theme of this year and Baby Alizeh did her job by speaking with the clouds, touching the mud, grass, trees, bark, leaves. Baby Alizeh speaks to them in her language which I don’t understand a bit but I am sure mother nature understands and acknowledges back by blowing a gentle breeze, where the leaves move and make us happy. A smile on baby Alizeh’s face say it all!! As a mommy I feel very proud that I am able to transfer the principles, teachings which my mother taught me and I could relish the moments which I spent with my parents during my childhood days.
These are the major roles which we are happy in contributing for making a safe place to live in. A few suggestions from our end for you readers:
  1. Plant saplings
  2. Water them and safeguard them.
  3. Say No to plastics
  4. Avoid using toxic stuffs
  5. Go the park spot on the different species.
Please do share with us how did your child teach you to respect the Global world? What steps the bub has made you to give your contribution for safeguarding the globe?

Review- HappyNap-BabyRashcream

HappyNap Rash Cream-Benzalkonium &Zinc Cream
                                                                                                    -Indian Product
HappyNap Rash Cream- A product by an Indian for the Indian. It’s manufactured by Apex Laboratories Private Limited, Tamilnadu.
How much does it weigh?
It weighs 20g in the form of a paste filled in the tube. Its approximately Rs.85/-

How did I land into this product?
I am basically sensitive person and since babyA was in my womb wanted to avoid antibiotics, medicines as much as possible. The most threatening fact which made me to use the cloth diapers is as I didn’t liked to use the disposable diapers as I didn’t want my kid to fall trapped with the chemicals as the bum should be chemical free. Im lazy too and thanks to my sister who maintained the record of not using disposables at all till babyA was 3 months old. Though we are super careful BabyA got her first mild rash when she was in the teething phase around 4 months old so when we had our regular visit to the doctor he said its nothing serious and if at all the rash builds up more use this cream and it works wonders. I have a great respect for that doctor as he does everything from the view of the baby, breastfeeding friendly doctor too. As he suggested we got this product.
What’s the composition?
It contains Zinc oxide to the larger proportion and benzalkonium to a minimum composition in the cream form. It heals the rashes as well as behaves as a barrier by preventing the development of new rashes.
Promise of the TEAM:
Ø  It’s actually a cream for babies who have sensitive skin. It can cure the rashes caused due to nappies, diaper or tight clothing.
What’s the best which I like!
Ø  It works wonders as promised
Ø  A small amount is enough to cure the rashes
Ø  The existing rashes are also cured.
Ø  The price which doesn’t make a hole in our pocket. Can be available all over India.
Any Disadvantages:
Ø  I am unable to really quote disadvantages as im extremely happy with the product and if at all Il have to say it can come in little larger quantity.
How to Use:
Ø  Wash the affected area and pat dry
Ø  Take the cream and apply them in the affected region.
Ø  Use three times a day.
My rating:
8.5/10.

Disclaimer:
The product is reviewed on own basis and I have no connection with the company. As I felt the product is good felt it would be helpful for new mommies.

ANMOL SOFTSTRUCTURED CARRIER-REVIEW

I usually feel babywearing should happen in ease. I don’t have interest in wraps or meh-dais as I feel soft structured carriers(SSCs) are easy to handle when compared to other types. When Baby A was 2 months old the call of Anmol travel hug programme came and I asked them to push it to few months later as I wanted to try their SSCs as I own a ringsling and I wasn’t ready to invest in a carrier then. When Baby A was 6 months old they asked us if we would be able to try the WCSSC. Wow  what   an opportunity it was. I received our WCSSC in the mid of January and it was neatly packed in a cardboard box. The box consisted of
1.An Anmol Basic Orange Full WCSSC
            2. Tote
Baby A loves bright colours and when I unpacked the package baby A’s eyes were sparkling with joy to look at the bright Orange colour infront of her. She grabbed the WCSSC from my hands and it was a result from the grabbing milestone which she achieved a month before. It was sooo gorgeous to see and my camera skills didn’t do the justice :p. When this was in my hands I just wanted to  know about the history of Anmol and to my surprise I came to know that it is the FIRST CERTIFIED INDIAN BUCKLED BABYCARRIER Compliant with the standards recommended by BCIA. When I read this the respect I had for ANMOL roseup. Anmol aims to use lot of handwoven and handworked fabric panel with natural dyes which are safe for babies and it can be used from 7kgs to 20kgs. It allows both the front and back carries and its machine washable which is a big plus.
The Orange Full WCSSC is my all time favourite its just because of it being lighter and it being summer I would prefer this for its lighter and nicer feel. As F had to leave out of country in a weeks’ time I had a lovable opportunity to explore for the trips and shopping.
Now lets have a look at each and everything in detail:
  1. Buckles:
The buckles comprises of a double lock system and a third elastic lock which is completely safe and an added advantage which makes a mamma feel secure.
  1. Storage Space:
The special space which is available in the ANMOL is that it has a storage space which is small on the waistbelt where I had my keys and a small money purse and few people were lucky enough to carry their mobiles.
  1. The hood:
The hood can be used for neck support and can be used as a sunshade during sunny and it can be used to cover while we are nursing..
  1. The body panel:
The panel has a rich look and the orange colour attracted Baby A and it was very comfortable to carry her.
The padding attached to them is light and it doesn’t make us feel its bulky.
As I said earlier we did a complete shopping with our anmol and we lived, walked, nursed ,cried with anmol literally. I wore for around 9+hours and it was soooo comfortable and it’s a boon I can say.

The carrier has two options to carry the bubs. Front carry and back carry. I preferred front carry as its recommended that only the babies attain a stage where they can sit unassisted can be made to sit back,. As I felt it needs a learning curve I preferred front carry and we rocked in it.

Disclaimer: This Carrier was sent to me as a part of the Anmol Travel Hug program and the review is made on a honest basis and I used it extensively for a period of 6 days and I felt very comfortable and I do recommend my fellow mommies to start your babywearing with anmol.

Modern Education - My Views

According to me, Education must help an individual to grow up with strong Self-Esteem, to develop knowledge, skills and attitude of children [learners]. In a simple term, education must encourage an individual to select a behaviour he/she wants to develop in a positive manner. It should make an individual think more about the subject, explore, play on the scenario. In simple the learner should answer all the “WH QUESTIONS”!!
Children love to learn from the digital world than the regular method. So its better to include the asynchronous methodology to grab the attention of the learner. We tend to grab the topic and get the essence of the content only when we visualize them. In the digital world the visualization is easy with the help of movies/animations. It all happens with the creativity of the educators.
The interaction should not be only within the four walls of a classroom, it should be also beyond the classroom through virtual trips, Interactive sessions through wires/wireless.
The cost of education goes high when we have fewer amounts of resources, so to manage the resources we can share them via the conduct of sessions through means of wires/wireless.
We can use the opensource platforms that lets us build the perfect education solution for our needs such as customize the platform for making the learner be Learner-centric. Instead of boring paper technology this methodology can be used so that the data will be available in the clouds for a longer run and deeper run. The tutor as well as the learner will be updated on education system.
The learner should have an openness to choose his/her interest and develop his/her skills on the particular interest. The modern education should be a combination of nature, environment, skills, technology, and humanity. It should make us feel a complete learned human!
The Overall development of MIND, BODY and SOUL is the REAL EDUCATION.
It should be learner-centric with a methodology to balance the human as well as technical resources when and if a learner is falling behind!!

Babywearing and I

When I was in my teens my cousin  who is in Canada was placing her son on a bag sort where her son was quite comfy happily sleeping. At that moment I felt I should try sometime and as days passed by it went out of my mind. But when I was preggi those nine months with the time I had started to read about babywearing, It was like an ocean for me. When discussed to my cousins as usually i disucss about every other topic they said In India its not possible at all. People will mock at you. All will look at you strange. I was little hesitant to think about it but made up my mind I will go for it as I don't want to see my baby crying for hours. I wanted to feel her breathe, cuddle her close to me, hug me tight. Then I explored the babywearing blogs, videos, DIYs what not. At a point of time I felt where I have landed to? tooo much of jargons, they speak about ergonomic and non ergonomic. uffff then felt this is the phase to be happy. so didn't strain much and relaxed a bit. After Ms. A was born to touch her it was a divine, Both faru and I were in cloud nine. After looking at Ms. A the babywearing came into my mind. But that time was to think about her, so kept the thought aside. When she was 25 days old thought to sign up for a travel carrier program and I ended signing up with the Indian Company called Cookie Slings and my journey of babywearing started there. I did order but felt little frightened as what if i drop her down?? Then through few videos I learnt the skill of threading the ring sling and wore her with the help of my sister and my mom. What a divine feel it was. she was soooo close to me enough to kiss her. The moment she was next to me she dozed offf.... We both were sooo comfy. The guyz who know about my sister and brother they are kool photographers and both Alizeh and I had a photoshoot with the ring sling. The whole one week it was such a great experience and we both enjoyed the cuddles.
Then after that i tried with the shawl she didnt cooperate much so had a fear will she like it or not. So thought to attend few local meets and try different products and go for a suitable carrier for us. But did the shopping bug leave me?? Eid was nearing and I wanted to gift myself something so what did I do? Ordered a ring sling from Happybaby creations a new venture. I loved the strawberry print from it. Its a double layered cotton Ring Sling.
The day it came Ms. A was little fuzzy so I had to do buttering and make her accept it. I was in a fear she will not accept it but to all our surprise she enjoyed it and we both went for a small walk in it. Two days later Salha had to leave to US to meet her husband and as Alizeh was small my family felt its not good to travel some 7 hours with a small bub. Salha is the one who took care of my Ms. A as she is the favourite mausi for Ms.A. I didnt wanna disappoint her so decided I will wear her and ensoy my trip. and Yes Alizeh was quite comfy in her RS with her mom, nani and motimom(Salha), maamz and naanu. Two days trip went calm, quite and relaxed. I was able to walk, calm her down, sleep, eat peacefully. Hug her, cuddle her....

The next day Alizeh's mommom(naani) received "The Best Engineer Award" from Institution of Engineers and the infant engineer attend the meet. All were dumbstruck as she was quite, calm. The only reason for that is she was close to her mom, could hear her mom's heartbeat, could feel her mom's presence what not?

Now coming to an interesting event which took place, Alizeh was 3 months and we moved to my sasuraal and we had a anniversary party to attend. Alizeh was sooo cranky that I ended up feeding her back to back did lot of cluster feeding. Forgot totally about the concept babywearing. Faru walked in and asked me to wear her and the moment I wore her she was calm and there was a magic where she slept and dozed offf....
The babywearing also helped me to stand in passport office, Big bazzar queue, to walk in the hospital during her usual visits, what not. The expenditure I did in this particular concept was an wow and I dont regret at all.
With Alizeh I tend to learn stuffs and as a first time mommy Im happy to give best to Ms. A as I promised her as soon as I came to know that we were expecting!!
Now Im an advocate of Babywearing!! Helping new mommies to wear their bubs.Enjoy the cuddles without any pain.!!!

Alizeh's Ring sling!! The one which has been travelling  with us in the journey of motherhood!!
